Invader Zim

Invader Zim is probably one of the most original cartoons I've seen in a long time.

Zim, with his robot slave Gir, comes from the planet Irk to conquer the planet Earth as part of "Operation Impending Doom 2". Well, at least that is what Zim thinks. Actually, he was sent out in space by the Irken rulers, The Tallest. Zim so badly wanted to be part of Operation Impending Doom 2 that he begged the Tallest to assign him a planet to conquer so they made up a story about a secret mission and gave Zim a half-witted robot slave so they could get rid of him.

Well, things didn't go as the Tallest had planned. Instead of being lost forever in space, Zim and Gir landed on the planet Earth....
