The Storm


So cold, this fear - why won't it fade away?
Cold and dark inside - Why won't this feeling fade?
Memories can't bring back the past
The things I've lost and can't get back

Clouds fill the sky and it doesn't matter
But then lightning flashes and my world is shattered
Can't seem to turn my back on this pain
Can't seem to get out of the rain

The sound of thunder makes me want to scream
The noise inside my head won't let me think

Memories - why won't they fade away?

Clouds fill the sky - the sound of thunder
The rain comes down even harder
Tears can't wash away this pain
Everything is lost in the rain

Why won't this feeling fade?

Just fade away

And neither will this pain
But I don't care what they tell me
Because I know everything is lost in the rain

Lighting strikes the same place twice
Cannot seem to break the ice
A hundred thousand tears could fall
Still cannot feel at all

The Rain Inside

Take a chance and look inside
To deal with anything that's left
Any other time it might be different
But this is what's here now

Watching, feeling the fading light
My mind cries for silence
But the rain is never-ending
Tears are lost - please look away

Dreams crash into a wall of emotion
A violent impact ripping confusion apart
Leaving me alone with the rain
Wishing for something more

Take another look to see a different side
And then maybe look away
I think I've lost it all
Can't you feel the glass break?

Reality fades in and out
Through the pouring rain
